GUERNSEY Touch is pleased to announce that the Channel Islands Stock Exchange has agreed to become the sponsor of this year’s Channel Islands Club Championship.

After the success of last year’s inaugural Channel Islands Club Championship, a second weekend tournament has been arranged for the first weekend of June which will be open to teams from Guernsey, Jersey and across Europe.

‘We were keen to show just what the Channel Islands have to offer and decided that there was an opportunity to organise a club tournament. The 2008 tournament was a huge success with a high standard of touch and a fantastic atmosphere,’ said Guernsey Touch chair Katrina Bray.

‘We’re delighted that following the success of last year’s event, that we have been able to secure the Channel Islands Stock Exchange as sponsor of the event which will be renamed the Channel Islands Stock Exchange Touch Club Championship. With the support of the CISX, we will be able to grow the tournament and attract even more teams to the islands.’

The 2009 Channel Islands Stock Exchange Touch Club Championship will be held over the weekend of 6 and 7 June and will be open to mixed, men’s and women’s club teams.

‘We’re hoping to attract a wide mix of teams for what will be an excellent weekend of competitive touch, a chance to meet new players and enjoy the spirit of touch both on and off the pitch.’
